Inspired by Great Britain's Tim Peake and his successful space mission, we've decided to name our classes after space rockets and launchers. In the words of Buzz Lightyear, 'to infinity and beyond' - at St Barnabas this is where we take our learning!
We are LIBERTY class, welcome to our class page.
In Year 3 we pride ourselves on our enthusiastic approach to learning. We have lots of fun learning by working together and challenging ourselves. We always try our best to improve our understanding and stretch our knowledge to help us prepare for the future. We know that it is important to take risks and not to worry about making mistakes. This is how we learn best!
|Please read the three documents below. They outline the curriculum for Reading, Writing and Maths in Year 3. At St.Barnabas we use these documents to assess your children's depth of understanding throughout the academic year.|

Term 1 Activities
On Friday Liberty, Apollo and Discovery classes completed a maths challenge activity outside. The children were challenged to make their way over the flooded River Nile (the playground) by earning stepping stones (PE equipment). They earned equipment by completing maths challenges linked to this term's learning. Challenges involved teamwork and problem solving skills being applied in order to be successful. They were awesome!
Make a bottle rocket and see if you can launch it into space!
Year 3 & 4 Retold the Easter Story
During our space topic Years 3 & 4 were asked to investigate a possible alien invasion in our outdoor area. They found spoons, cupcakes, alien goo and footprints. They concluded that the Poglites (from the book Cakes in Space must have landed!
