Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At St Barnabas CE Primary School we are committed to providing high quality education for all our pupils. We believe in learning without limits, giving pupils the confidence to grow and fulfil their potential. Our shared aim is to give our learners the tools they need for a successful future.
We believe that all children, including those identified as having Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), have an entitlement to an inspiring, broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, and that they should be fully included in all aspects of school life. Every teacher is a teacher of every child and we aim to help all children to succeed and to remove any barriers to learning.
All children who apply to St Barnabas Primary School are admitted without prejudice and in accordance with LA arrangements for providing placements for children with SEND. Our school building allows children and/or carers with disabilities to access all areas of the school. Access points to the school building are on gently sloping surfaces and there are wide doorways. There are two disabled toilet facilities in the school.
Class teachers are always the first point of contact if you have a query or concern. In addition, Mrs Southwell and Mrs Smith are our SENCos and can be contacted via the school office should you wish to discuss your child's needs.
Our provision for the children with SEND is outlined in our School Information Report.
The Provision outlined in our School Information Report is in line with the South Gloucestershire Local Offer. You can find out more about the local provision and services at:-
