          HARVEST FESTIVAL

We would like to thank all our parents and children for their fantastic support with the Harvest Festival as you can see we had an amazing amount of donations.  The children also gave a great performance for the service which was held at St Barnabas Church.  Please check out our picture gallery to see the children in action.

Fostering a love of reading and inspiring our children to read a range of books throughout their lives is one of our key priorities.  Our new approach and Reading Spine (it's not a scheme) will be explained in more detail during the Expectations Evening.  However, in order to get this off the ground we have needed to make two fairly significant changes.  Firstly, we need to update the quality of our texts, which has involved a financial investment and the new stock should be with us within a few weeks.  The second change was to make a very accurate assessment of all our children's reading abilities.  This assessment happened during the summer term.  We can now use this information to reliably inform us what to teach next.  Please bear with us as we wrestle through a couple of teething problems and if you're still unsure of your child's book and have questions after the Expectations Evening, come in and speak with the class teacher, they'll be happy to help you.
