Inspired by Great Britain's Tim Peake and his successful space mission, we've decided to name our classes after space rockets and launchers. In the words of Buzz Lightyear, 'to infinity and beyond' - at St Barnabas this is where we take our learning!
We are DISCOVERY class, welcome to our class page.
Our class is named after the Space Shuttle Discovery which completed more space flights than any other spacecraft to date. It revealed secrets of our solar system and travelled far and wide on its quest to uncover the many mysteries space holds. It showed amazing resilience to keep flying as long as it did and even had the responsibility of launching the Hubble Space Telescope.
This is why it is the perfect name for our class; we will discover new facts and master many new skills while showing resilience about taking on new challenges. As we discover, we will take responsibility for our learning and be enthusiastic every step of the learning journey!
Let's step up, work together and take on the mission discovery which Year 4 is all about.
|Please read the three documents below. They outline the curriculum for Reading, Writing and Maths in Year 4. At St.Barnabas we use these documents to assess your children's depth of understanding throughout the academic year.|

Term 1 Activities
On Friday Liberty, Apollo and Discovery classes completed a maths challenge activity outside. The children were challenged to make their way over the flooded River Nile (the playground) by earning stepping stones (PE equipment). They earned equipment by completing maths challenges linked to this term's learning. Challenges involved teamwork and problem solving skills being applied in order to be successful. They were awesome!
